Teach the administrators
keeping California's
most vulnerable safe.
A different kind of continuing-education role for RNs, NPs, PAs, physicians, and CDSS-certified administrators. Live cohorts. Real audiences. Your name on the door.
Read the role →1099 · Fully remote · California license required
This isn't for everyone.
It might be for you.
You've spent years earning credentials, hours, and hard-won judgment. Somewhere along the way, you started wondering where that expertise gets to LIVE — beyond one hospital, one facility, one shift, one patient.
We built 123ceu.com's live instructor bench for exactly that answer.
Registered Nurses
You've watched too many talented colleagues burn out at the bedside and know the fix starts at the administrator level.
NPs & PAs
You're tired of anonymous CE that treats learners like liabilities instead of leaders.
Physicians
You want a stage — not a lecture hall, not a stuffy CME hotel ballroom — where your clinical judgment translates into real operational change.
Administrators
Current or former RCFE / ARF / GH / STRTP. You've lived the regulations and know which pages of Title 22 the state actually cares about.
Subject Matter Experts
Behavioral health, geriatrics, dementia, hospice, medication safety, emergency preparedness — with the credentials to back it.
If you're building a personal brand, running your own consulting shop, or growing a company that intersects with residential care — this role isn't a distraction from that. It's an accelerator.
Why we're building this,
and why it matters.
Every RCFE and ARF administrator in California is legally required to complete 40 hours of state-approved continuing education every two years to keep their license. Half of that (20 hours) can be self-paced — we handle that with our on-demand library, available 24/7 for administrators to take on their own time. The other 20 hours must be live. That's where you come in.
Most administrators dread the live portion — they picture yet another dry webinar, another slide-clicker droning through Title 22. We're changing that.
Our live courses are real. Real instructors, real cohorts, real conversation. Administrators show up because they get something they can't get from a recording — judgment. The kind you only build from years in the field, taught by someone who's actually been there.
Who your students are
Licensed RCFE and ARF administrators, executive directors, and operators — the people making the daily decisions that keep residents safe, staff aligned, and the state off their back. They pay real money to be here. They come to LEARN, not check a box.
Why we're winning
We're one of a handful of CDSS-approved vendors doing this LIVE, and the only one building it around named, credentialed instructors — not anonymous voice actors. Every course carries its own CDSS approval code. Every instructor gets a real profile on our site. Every hour we teach is one someone else in this space is losing.
The role, in one paragraph.
You teach one 5-hour theme per monthly cohort, live on our webinar classroom platform, to a room of 15–75 licensed California administrators. You are not writing curriculum from scratch — we hand you CDSS-approved slide decks and course materials. You show up, teach, engage, answer questions, and go. Sessions run either weeknight evenings (Tue/Thu 6:30–9pm PT) or weekend days (Sat/Sun 9am–2pm PT). You pick your themes, your cadence, and how deep you want to go. 1099 contract. Fully remote. Every session paid.
What you'll teach.
Every monthly cohort covers 20 hours of CDSS-approved content, split across four themes and six sessions. You claim one theme (5 hours) or more — your call.
Theme 1 — Clinical Safety
Medication safety and high-alert drugs · falls prevention · infection prevention · change-in-condition escalation · restraint boundaries · resident protection.
Theme 2 — Risk Management & Transitions
Environment safety and inspection readiness · emergency preparedness · APS, ombudsman, and community-support coordination · transfers, evictions, relocation conversations · abuse reporting that holds up in court.
Theme 3 — Compliance Foundations
Title 22 in real life · documentation and survey readiness · pre-admission screening · needs & services plan construction · reassessment, escalation, and retention decisions.
Theme 4 — Behavioral & Psychosocial Care
Recognizing psychosocial red flags · dementia communication · de-escalation without restraint · family conflict, resident rights, healthy boundaries · dignity and resident voice.
You don't have to fit neatly into one theme — most of our best instructors span two or three. Tell us what you're strongest at, and we'll build your season around it.
The monthly rhythm.
Each cohort runs 6 sessions across 10 days, 20 total hours:
- Weeknights — Tuesday + Thursday, 6:30–9:00 pm PT · 2.5 hours each
- Weekends — Saturday + Sunday, 9:00 am–2:00 pm PT · 5 hours each
Commitment options
Minimum commitment: 5 hours per month. Maximum: unlimited. Some of our instructors want the stage — take as much as you can carry.
The one non-negotiable: CDSS locks in our instructor names 60+ days before every cohort. When you commit to a session, you show up. If your life shifts (and it will — kids, boards, hospitals, life), tell us early and we'll reassign. What we can't do is scramble at the last minute. Reliability is the price of admission to this bench.
What sessions actually look like
- Fully remote on our live webinar classroom platform
- Audience: 15–75 licensed CA administrators — adult professional learners, not students
- You lead live, on-camera preferred, off-camera acceptable during connectivity issues
- Interactive — polls, Q&A, breakout discussion — not a monologue
- No prep required beyond reviewing the deck we send you
- We handle: platform, registration, marketing, tech support, CDSS submission, certificate issuance, student communication
What we pay.
Starting at $50 per teaching hour. Paid on session completion. No games, no lowballing, no "when the course fills" nonsense.
You pick the payment platform. Whatever works for you — Upwork if that's how you applied, PayPal, or another platform we agree on together. We keep it simple, transparent, and on time.
Paid training before your first class
We don't ask you to prep on your own dime. Every new instructor gets two paid preparation sessions before teaching their first cohort:
- Phase 1 — Platform & Systems Walkthrough · 1 hour · $50 flat. Get familiar with everything you'll touch on class day: the 123ceu instructor portal, the live streaming environment, and the in-class chat you'll use during sessions.
- Phase 2 — Course Delivery Rehearsal · 1 hour · $50 flat. Mock the actual course flow with Karissa on the line beside you. Pacing, timing, transitions, Q&A handling — practice the real thing before you go live.
That's $100 paid before you ever teach a paying session — because your preparation is part of the job, and we treat it that way.
What we DON'T do
- Unpaid prep (materials come to you)
- Deferred / "when the course fills" payment
- Revenue share on your first cohort (you're not on the hook for our marketing)
- Payment "credits" or in-kind trades
Straight, honest, hourly pay. Every session, every time.
Ongoing instructors — those who teach consistently across multiple cohorts — become priority candidates for rate reviews, bonus themes, and premium slot placement. Rate reviews start after your second cohort.
The four things you gain
that pay isn't.
Most CE platforms rent your credentials by the hour, then treat you like inventory. You become "the RN who taught last Thursday." Anonymous. Interchangeable. Forgotten.
We do the opposite. Every instructor gets access to four amplification engines the moment you sign your first contract. Use one. Use all four. Use them to build something that outlasts your teaching schedule.
Visibility & SME Authority
Bylined Blog Authorship
You've spent years earning the right to have opinions on your subject. We give you a place to publish them — with your name on the door.
- Bylined blog articles on 123ceu.com — your name, your headshot, your credentials, linked back to your website or LinkedIn.
- Opt-in and up to 4 posts per year — one per quarter if you want the exposure. Not required, not obligated.
- You pick the topic in your area of expertise — we edit lightly, you approve, we publish.
- SEO-positioned for the exact terms your audience searches (Title 22 compliance, RCFE documentation, dementia care, medication safety).
- Cross-posted to our LinkedIn with you tagged, so reach compounds.
- Full republication rights — post it on your own site, use it in consulting materials, quote it in interviews.
Legacy & Shaping the Next Generation
Of California Administrators
This is your chance to calibrate the judgment of the people running California's residential care facilities for the next decade.
Every 20-hour cohort holds 15–75 licensed administrators — the ones making the daily calls that keep residents safe and facilities open. What they learn in your classroom becomes:
- The catch that spots a change-in-condition three hours before a family member does
- The documentation reflex that keeps a facility open through a surprise state inspection
- The de-escalation move that keeps a dementia patient safe without restraints
- The transfer conversation that preserves resident dignity when the alternative is a lawsuit
Every administrator you teach is a downstream multiplier — they train their staff with what you taught them, so your one 5-hour session touches hundreds of residents over the following year.
Brand & Company Amplification
Your Business is Our Business
If you have your own brand, company, coaching practice, or product that aligns with residential care — we amplify it, we don't compete with it.
- Instructor profile page on 123ceu.com/our-live-course-instructors — links to YOUR website, YOUR LinkedIn, YOUR services.
- In-session credit — every course opens with your bio and business callout during the housekeeping segment.
- Newsletter features — we spotlight one instructor per month, deep-diving on their work outside 123ceu.
- Industry Marketplace access — as an active instructor, your $100/quarter listing fee is waived. Get in front of every RCFE / ARF admin in your regional exclusivity zone. Learn more: 123ceu.com/industry-marketplace.
You're not a competitor to us — you're a partner. We win when you win.
Cross-Program Placement & The Career Bridge
Beyond Live Teaching
Live teaching is the entry point, not the ceiling. Once you're on our bench, you unlock the ability to grow into:
- On-demand course narration & production — we're building a library of pre-recorded courses. Instructors get first right of refusal to voice or on-camera-present modules in their theme.
- Professional Review Board seat — for our upcoming 123nursece.com launch (national nursing CE, all 50 states). A named credential you can list on your CV.
- National expansion (NAB / NCERS) — we're actively building content to teach beyond California. Current bench gets first offers on new geographic markets and course tracks as they launch.
What's coming — year-out vision
A community of practicing educators — nurse educators, physician educators, admin educators — who know each other by name. Long term, we're building 123ceu.com's instructor bench into a real peer network: named experts across California's residential care ecosystem who read each other's work, refer clients back and forth, and get pulled into policy conversations together. Not a job perk — a professional home for people whose expertise usually goes unseen.
That community is still being built. What you join today is the founding bench for it. First in, first shaped.
What we require.
Non-negotiable
- Active California license in good standing — RN, NP, PA, MD/DO, LVN (with strong domain expertise), DDS/DMD (for oral-care topics), PharmD, or CDSS-certified RCFE/ARF Administrator
- Deep working knowledge of Title 22 or your specialty — you can teach it because you've lived it
- Available a minimum of 2 weekends per month (or 2 weeknight pairs) for scheduling flexibility
- Comfortable on live camera in an online webinar classroom with 15–75 professional learners
- Reliable communicator — you respond, you show up, you close the loop
Preferred (not required)
- Prior teaching, in-service training, or CE facilitation experience
- Master's degree or higher (MSN, DNP, MBA, MHA, JD, PharmD, PhD)
- Direct experience operating inside an RCFE, ARF, GH, or STRTP
- Existing personal brand, consulting practice, or company aligned with residential care
- Bilingual (English + Spanish, Tagalog, Mandarin, or Vietnamese — huge advantage for CA administrator audiences)
Pre-qualification packet
Once you decide to move forward, we'll ask for:
- Copy of active California license (or CDSS Administrator certificate)
- Current CV or resume
- Professional headshot + 100-word bio
- One 20-minute video call with our team — mutual fit check
What this isn't.
Straight talk on where this role stops:
- Not a full-time job. This is 1099 contract work. You keep your day job, your practice, your license, your other clients.
- Not a salaried faculty role. We don't offer benefits, PTO, or W-2 tax treatment.
- Not curriculum-writing work. We give you CDSS-approved materials. If you want to build your own course from scratch, we have a separate on-demand track for that.
- Not an "influencer" gig. You need real credentials and real subject-matter authority. We verify licenses and check references.
- Not a promotional funnel for our own consulting services. We don't have any. Our business is the platform. Your business is your business — and if it aligns with residential care, active instructors get a seat in our Industry Marketplace (regional exclusivity, seats sold per region and locked once full; if your teaching goes inactive or you no-show, your listing is pulled).
- Not for people who need to be micromanaged. You bring your expertise, we bring the platform.
- Not a "let me get back to you" culture. We move fast. We expect the same.
One email. That's it.
[email protected]Include these five things:
- Your CV or resume
- Your California license number (or CDSS Administrator certificate number)
- Two sentences on why you want in — what draws you, what you'd want to teach
- The theme(s) you're most drawn to — Clinical Safety, Risk Management & Transitions, Compliance Foundations, Behavioral & Psychosocial Care, or "let's talk"
- A LinkedIn or personal website link if you have one
You'll hear back within 3 business days. If we see a fit, we'll set up a 20-minute video call — mutual, casual, no trick questions. If it clicks, we move fast: docs → CDSS submission → first cohort assignment within 30 days.
If we don't see an immediate fit, we'll tell you why. Real feedback, not a form-letter ghost.
Frequently asked.
I'm not California-based. Can I still teach?
You can teach from anywhere — the classes are remote. But you must hold an active California license because our students are California administrators earning California-recognized CEUs.
How is this different from Relias, MedBridge, Assisted Living Education, and the other big CE platforms?
They're on-demand recording factories. We're live, small-cohort, and instructor-forward. On those platforms you're one narrator among thousands. On ours you're a named authority with a public profile.
What if I can only commit to one cohort to see if I like it?
Perfect. That's how most of our best instructors started. One session, one cohort, no strings.
Can I bring my own audience to my sessions?
Yes and please do. Every seat you fill is one we don't have to acquire. Instructors who consistently bring students get first pick of premium slots and bonus rate adjustments.
I have my own coaching / consulting business — is there a conflict of interest?
There's alignment, not conflict. We amplify your business through Engine 3. What we DON'T tolerate is instructors using our platform to bad-mouth other services or pitch products mid-lecture.
What's the fastest way to move from "one-off instructor" to real platform partner?
Teach reliably for two cohorts. Contribute one blog article (if you want the visibility). Say yes to Oct/Nov/Dec early. That's the loop that unlocks Review Board access, on-demand narration first-refusal, and priority placement as we expand.
You mentioned a peer community of educators — what's the timeline on that?
Long game, honestly. Right now the bench is small and named. Over the next ~12 months we're building it into a real professional network. If that sounds like the professional home you've been looking for, joining now means you help shape what it becomes.
What if I want to teach nursing students, not administrators?
You're on the right platform at the wrong time. 123nursece.com launches in the next 6–12 months for national nursing CE across all 50 states. Get on the 123ceu.com bench now, and you're first in line.
I'm interested but not sure I meet the credential bar. Should I still reach out?
If you have real domain expertise, YES. Credentials matter, but so does what you've done with them. Send the email. Let us tell you if it's a fit.
The bottom line.
Most CE platforms rent your credentials by the hour and forget your name the next day.
We're building the opposite. A bench of named, credentialed, real experts who use 123ceu.com as a launchpad for something bigger — a blog readership, a consulting book, a national brand, a career pivot.
If that sounds like what you've been looking for, we'd love to hear from you.
