This course provides California Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) administrators with a comprehensive, regulation-driven framework for medication delegation, accountability, and clinical safety under AB 1570 and Title 22. Administrators are legally responsible for medication management programs, yet must rely on staff to execute daily tasks. This training bridges the gap between clinical safety requirements and administrative oversight, equipping administrators—regardless of clinical background—to design, implement, and sustain robust medication systems that meet both state and federal standards.
Participants will explore the legal boundaries of delegation, identify non-delegable administrator duties, and master the development of multi-layered accountability structures that function without micromanagement. The course integrates essential clinical safety knowledge, including staff competency assessment, observable indicators of resident change, and geriatric medication considerations, all within the context of administrative leadership. Special emphasis is placed on documentation, audit readiness, incident response, and compliance with Title 22 CCR Sections 87465, 87466, 87211, and related Health & Safety Code provisions.
