Personal rights violations are among the top citation categories in CDSS ARF surveys and failure to report abuse is not only a citation: it is a crime. This 2-hour course delivers authoritative, scenario-driven training on the three pillars of resident protection every ARF administrator must master: Title 22 personal rights, mandated reporting under Welfare & Institutions Code §§ 15630-15632, and the CCLD complaint and appeals procedures. You will learn which resident rights are non-negotiable (right to dignity, confidentiality, freedom from chemical and physical restraint, access to Ombudsman), how to identify and immediately report suspected abuse or neglect of dependent adults, how to document complaints internally, and how CDSS investigates facility complaints and what your obligations are during that process. Real-world vignettes drawn from actual CDSS citations help administrators recognize gray-area situations before they escalate. This course is person-centered at its core resident rights are not procedural niceties; they are the operational standard. COK Area: Law & Regulations Personal Rights, Mandated Reporting, Complaint Procedures.
