A single missed fire drill or an expired sprinkler inspection can jeopardize your ARF license, and an administrator who misunderstands conservatorship limits may inadvertently violate a resident's legal rights. This 2-hour course addresses two high-stakes legal domains that intersect daily in ARF operations: California State Fire Code compliance for R2 and R3.1 residential occupancies, and the legal authority frameworks conservatorship, limited power of attorney, representative payee, and SSA/SSI that govern decision-making for your residents.
You will learn Title 19 fire safety requirements including evacuation planning, drill frequency, smoke detector standards, and fire clearance obligations, as well as the critical distinctions between full conservatorship, limited conservatorship, healthcare power of attorney, and representative payee roles. Administrators will gain the confidence to communicate accurately with courts, families, regional centers, and SSA while protecting resident autonomy and preventing financial exploitation. COK Area: Law & Regulations — State Fire Code, R2/R3.1 Occupancies, Conservatorship, POA, SSA, Representative Payee.
