Individual Healthcare Needs: Dental, Vision, Podiatry, and Hearing

This course equips California RCFE Administrators with the knowledge and practical tools needed to ensure residents’ dental, vision, podiatry, and hearing needs are proactively addressed in compliance with Title 22 regulations. While medication management and routine physicals are standard, specialty health care coordination is often neglected, leading to preventable declines in residents’ quality of life and increased regulatory scrutiny. Administrators will learn to recognize the signs of unmet specialty care needs, implement effective systems for tracking and documenting services, and coordinate with external providers to meet regulatory expectations. The course emphasizes the importance of individualized care planning, clear documentation, and timely referrals—key areas that Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) evaluate during inspections. Real-world scenarios and compliance-driven strategies are presented to help administrators avoid common pitfalls, reduce liability, and demonstrate a commitment to person-centered care. This training is designed exclusively for California RCFE Administrators, ensuring all content aligns with the most current Title 22 requirements and inspection priorities. By the end of this course, participants will be prepared to build sustainable systems that safeguard resident dignity, independence, and well-being while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
